Woodshop instructor Myrna Molina guides Zachary Jeune through

Hilfer Speaks to Freshmen at YHS

Tiffany Hilfer, a 2014 YHS graduate and current Animal Science
major at UC Davis, recently spoke with ninth grade Health and
Biomedical Science Academy students in their AVID class.
Tiffany shared tips on navigating high school successfully, as
well as creating a well-rounded academic resume during the next
few years.

Chromebooks at YHS

Ms. Leon's 10th graders on a "trial run" using the laptops for
research in Modern World History. Students commented on how
fast the internet connection was compared to previous experience
here at YHS and how much easier the touchscreen made the
research process. No Inland Empire high school matches YHS
for the depth and breadth of technology available to students.

Several former students visited Mr. Stewart's ERWC class to
answer questions about their college experiences.á These

Crime Scene Investigation at YHS

1st year students in the Health and Biomedical Sciences
Academy begin their year-long investigation into a mysterious
death by examining the crime scene.á Students will design and
conduct laboratories, review autopsy reports andámedical histories
to develop an evidence-based conclusion on the cause of death.á
PE Clothes at YHS

Students can purchase their P.E. clothes at the YHS Student
Store. A package that includes shorts, shirt and a lock is $28.
Principal Kirkland Speaks to Freshmen at YHS

Principal Shad Kirkland discusses the ways and means of being
a successful high school student and a great Thunderbird to
Ms. Wolfe's Freshmen Seminar class. Mr. Kirkland spoke
to all Freshman Seminar and AVID 9 classes.
