Fire Safety Gift at YHS

Today in Lori Harrison’s class, Cal Fire presented to the Law and
Public Safety students about what it takes to be a CalFire
Firefighter, showed a video about firefighting, and answered
student questions. Captain Paye, Engineer Burkhart and
Paramedic Foster from Yucaipa Fire Station #2 also brought a
donation of “Bear Williams”, a manikin in full turnouts, complete
with a face mask. The manikin is named after the California Bear
and another firefighter who also donated a helmet and shield.
The LPS students will be using Bear in their LPS classes not only
this year, but for a long time. (This donation was well over $1000
worth of equipment and then countless man hours.)
